Johnny Enemark Head Coach of Junior Program

Johnny Enemark started rowing at Simon Fraser University as both a lightweight and heavyweight. In 1997 he started coaching SFU novice crew and then moved on to the Port Moody U19 crew. There his athletes enjoyed success at many regattas including golds at CSSRA regatta and CanAmMex. Teaching a mixture of sculling and sweeping to the rowers is the best way to prepare athletes for future success. Graduates of his programme have moved on to UBC, UVic, SFU and Queens as well as the Univeristy Washinton and West Virgina.

Maksim Kepskiy Under 19 Junior Program Coach

Maksym comes to VRC from the Ukraine where in 2004 he graduated from the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine with a specialist in 'Olympic and Professional Sports.' Maksim is also currently a personal trainer in Vancouver. 

Abby Lepp Und er 17 Junior Program Coach

Abby comes to us from the Maple Bay and Nainamo Rowing Clubs and has been rowing for 7 years.  She currently is a coach to the junior program and works as a Learn to Row  instructor at VRC during the summer months.

Jen Reid Novice Program Coach

Jen started rowing 7 years ago as a master rower and began working with the VRC novice program in 2004. She has a background in education and is currently completing her Level 2 certification for the NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program). Being a strong communicator she is able to effectively explain and interpret Club policies and procedures to new members, as well as, encourage open communications to achieve mutual understandings.  Jen is committed to excellence; constantly updating the Novice Program through personal reflection, and initiating and welcoming fresh ideas. She is currently working on her MA in Leadership through Royal Roads University.

Richard MaDaniel Novice Program Coach

Richard has been rowing as a Masters athlete at VRC since 1985 and a coach of the Novice program since 1996.   Coming from a competitive running & team sport background he is a beliver in being able to offer a competitive rowing enviroment together with an enjoyable socal atmosphere at the same time, which helps make the Novice program one of the most successful at VRC. Coaching athletes to both sweep and scull throughout the program helps make the transition to the next level of development much easier. Richard's long dedication to the sport of rowing and the Vancouver Rowing Club granted him the distinction of having one of our double skulls named in his honour.
